In the past, Go To Brno has become famous for its small photos of Brno apartment buildings, creative use of Google Translator and alphabetical lists of places that no one wants to go. I've made unflattering comments about him several times in newspapers and on TV.

Fortunately, times are changing, and with them the director of TIC Brno has changed. At the end of 2015, Jana Janulíková asked our family if we could help her with the portal. And so it happened.

Portal redesign strategy

Unlike many public projects, TIC Brno knew what it wanted — to attract tourists — hedonists to Brno.

Unfortunately, the content of the site was practically unusable. Alphabetical lists of hotels. Facts and figures. Personality Inventories. Photo of panel panels. Come to Brno — a city that will bore you to death.

We divided the project into several phases. The first phase involved the rapid creation of the smallest possible website, presenting Brno as a city of modern architecture, culture and gastronomy. It's authentic. On the level.

We cut the scope of the site to the bare minimum and set a new tone of communication through photos, short videos and transcribed texts. But that's the minimum necessary...

Telephone directories

TIC Brno is a contributory organization of the city, which limits it in certain respects. It has to serve the public -- it can't say, for example, “You're a good company, we'll have you on the web”.

Those who do not want to, look for reasons. Whoever wants to, he looks for ways. And TIC Brno wanted a great website. For example, a project became a by-product of website content preparation Gourmet Brno, which maps Brno's gastronomy through a committee of experts. And then on the portal we publish only the best rated companies.

In the same way, there was no point in leaving an alphabetical list of accommodation options on the site - tourists will use comparators with ratings and online ordering anyway.

But the project is just beginning — we need to start creating content that will attract tourists — hedonists to Brno. You have something to look forward to.

City circuits are the basis, but they definitely don't end there.

We wanted a truly professional team, made up of experts who knew what they were doing. The assignment was extremely challenging. We did not just create a new website, but we had the task of cleaning up the gotobrno brand, and thanks to Jan Řezáč we succeeded. Brno finally has a tourist site to be ashamed of. We look forward to its further development!
